OUR NEW HOME.

We've been blessed mightily and will be living in Escondido. It's all been made possible because of the Fikses, the Powells, the Bojos, the Mama (Sharon), and God's willingness to give us more than we deserve. We're looking forward to having all our loved over to enjoy the new space with us (though not at the same time).

A Visit to the County Clerk

An important detail has been taken care of. We now have a marriage license - nice! We can pretty must just show up and know it'll happen. For the sake of a nice event, maybe that's a dangerous thing. : /

BTW, this is Kellye with no sleep and me with pink eye. I was really sick in this shot, which is why I'm not smooth and shiny like usual.

100 days left!

Actually...
99 days left officially. Yesterday we celebrated with some Sushi with our friends, the Starrs. Today, we're celebrating by enjoying this amazing rain and - ironically - attempting an egagement session with our friend, Julie. It has taken a bit to coordinate a day when we can all get together and wouldn't you know it? Rain. But we love it. We'll work something out. Okay, we're heading out into the wild blue yonder!

Another Venue?

John Donaldson, my parents' neighbor in Valley Center, has made his beautiful home available as a potential venue for our wedding. His sister Amy has been wonderful and our point-of-contact for the entire endeavor. We have high hopes that we'll be able to really help each other out.

Visiting with us was the talented, generous, and always opinionated (one of his most endearing traits) Mick Scrivener (Elite British DJ). Also along was his lovely and equally talented wife, Julie (The Best Wedding for You). They came over to check out the space(s) and have been awesome...as long as I've known them.

There she is...my beautiful bride. Can you believe it!? She's not just "my bride" - as in my client - but she's MY bride! : )

A Sneak Peak

So much time has past since we've posted...or done much of anything regarding the wedding. It's incredible that half a year will soon be behind us since we got engaged. That means the clock is now ticking down on the second half of our planning phase. Yikes!

Here is a preview of what we're putting together for our center pieces. In keeping with how we want the entire event to be, they will be simple, classy, and meaningful. It's not exactly a huge development...but with so little time left, perhaps we'll be able to appease your interests in our wedding plans by posting more often.

Bride's Maids and Busters

Here're a couple quick updates.

This picture of Tiny is moments after getting a 'yes' from her two bride's maids, Aunt Pam and "Da Mama". Yay! They've already helped so much and been so involved that their duties shall not change. Thanks guys!

Here's us at the Bojo Ranch measuring the property and trying to figure out how many folks we can get it. This is Buster agreeing not to bite anyone as he walks down the aisle with the rings. He managed to crack some sort of joke too - hence Kellye's reaction.

50 First Dates

Hey everyone!

As most of you know, we have started the wedding planning, and we are tossing around a few different dates- a couple in May and one in June of next year.

We're also trying to nail down the venue. Though our initial guest list is pretty big, we know we'll be forced to whittle it down necessarily! We have a common vision of a small, intimate, and simple wedding. We'll see how it goes!

We wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes and great advice. It's so cool to see how much our loved ones want to help out!

Getting Started

It took mere hours of telling folks about our engagement that we started getting advice, info, questions, and a stack of bridal magazines rivaling that of the city library. I guess you can't get started too soon, huh? Well, making an actual, physical purchase is a big step - especially when you're not exactly sure on the date, the number of guests you can have, or the venue. So....I brought a video camera along.

We went to B&B Laces in El Cajon, which is closing down their doors to make way for the new police station (where Sharon is going to work). The material is selling like hotcakes so we went in, made our very best educated guess, and bought about 90 yards (yes, that's just the length) of some sort of material with a name that escapes me. ( I shoot weddings so I sometimes know things dudes shouldn't know about. This, though, I cannot remember. I think it's called muslin.)

Anywho, the Lord totally hooked up our first deal because the exact color we were hoping for was there and one of them has just enough for what we needed. Plus the fact that we save about $200 bones made it all a sweet deal. So I guess you could say we're committed to the colors somewhat, but there's plenty more to nail down.

What's great is that on the way to B&B, we saw 2 (3 - sort of) motorcyclists on the freeway who were being...dangerous, might be the word. Actually, I was mesmerized and ecstatic that I had my video camera, which is pretty rare these day. Kellye was driving - again, perfect situation so I could tape - and caught up with them. These guys were literally going like 75 mph and their precision and confidence was amazing. They were obviously professionals. Check out these images!

I have an online 'family' who go by the name, "Open Source Photography". They are folks from all over the world, all walks of life, and many diverse backgrounds. The commonality between them is that they love photography. Today, I posted some of the engagement photos for them to enjoy. Here's the link.

The Little Big Day

After 23 days in Europe (with a tour group, then staying in hostels and homes) we promised ourselves to have a San Diego 'date day' to celebrate the trip, being back home in the USofA and to celebrate 5-12, a day that's long had more significance to me than my birthday. For those that don't know, 512 is my...uhm, "lucky" number as it shows up very frequently in my life as well as for many who know me. On this particular day, we were also celebrating the official (legal) kick-off of my new business, "Studio 512".

It was a very normal, low-key Kellye/Eddie day. We checked out some art on Coronado, grabbed some KFC and headed to the park for a bite. What's a day together without me taking a million photos?

We saw several weddings taking place. Kinda funny that way.

What's this? Yet another wedding?

As amazing as Europe was, it's good to be home....safe - thanks to God.

Running around taking several photos to make sure I make good use of this lighting...and this moment. "Poor Honey. Your hearts really going." I didn't feel nervous, truthfully, but I guess Kell and my heart knew better.

With a simple question, she fell to her knees in disbelief and this was the resulting photo. I laughed - she cried - we hugged and gave it two very big thumbs up.

Contrary to popular belief, I did not design the ring. I 'designed' one similar and my guy, Aldo, found this one for me. Turns out, Kellye didn't hate it. And she really enjoyed the diamond. It belonged to her grandmother, whom we recently lost.

Returning on the ferry. Still hadn't eaten. Yep...still in a daze.

The evening wasn't complete w/o the fireworks. (Don't tell Kellye that I didn't plan those just for us.)

"Oh no. I didn't even get to fix my hair."

Our first "Date" was in a Denny's. Totally unplanned, but we found ourselves there this evening. We were stoked about it too!
